Funeral and memorial services honoring the late U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham have been finalized, with tributes scheduled to take place next week in both Washington, D.C., and his home state of South Carolina.

According to an announcement made Tuesday by the office of Graham’s sister, Darline Graham, who was appointed to complete the remainder of his Senate term following his death earlier this month, a series of public ceremonies will commemorate the longtime lawmaker’s decades of public service.

The memorial observances will begin on Monday, July 28, in Washington, D.C., where Graham’s more than 31 years of congressional service will be recognized. The day’s events will open with an arrival ceremony at the U.S. Capitol, honoring his years in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.

Following the Capitol ceremony, a funeral service will be held at the Washington National Cathedral. Organizers have announced that President Donald Trump is expected to deliver a tribute recognizing Graham’s longstanding career in public service and his contributions to national politics.

After the Washington service concludes, Graham’s remains will be transported to South Carolina on the evening of July 28 in preparation for additional memorial events in his home state.

On Tuesday, July 29, South Carolina will honor the late senator with a funeral procession featuring a law enforcement honor presentation and an F-16 flyover conducted by the 169th Fighter Wing of McEntire Joint National Guard Base. A church service will follow before Graham is laid to rest during a private family burial in Pickens County, South Carolina.

The planned services come as South Carolina continues to mourn the loss of one of its most influential political leaders. Throughout more than three decades in Congress, Graham became widely known for his work involving national security, judicial affairs, and foreign policy.

Following his death, Gov. Henry McMaster appointed Darline Graham to complete the remainder of her brother’s Senate term. She also announced her intention to seek election to a full six-year Senate term after receiving encouragement from President Trump.

In a statement released alongside the funeral arrangements, Darline Graham expressed appreciation to those who helped organize the memorial events.

“I am grateful to all those who have come together to help honor and remember Lindsey.”

She also thanked President Trump, Washington National Cathedral, Senate leadership, First Baptist Church of Columbia, and the Senate Sergeant at Arms for their assistance in planning the tributes.

The memorial services are expected to bring together political leaders, current and former colleagues, military representatives, family members, and friends to celebrate Lindsey Graham’s life, public service, and lasting legacy.
